Although the name Jòn Georgsson is relatively new to the artist, he has already amassed a rich profile.
In the early 90's he mainly composed music for underground cyber movements such as Dreamdealers, gaining a certain notority for his work. From being a part of commercial diffusions such as the release of the TRSI compilation CD Cyberlogic in 1996 to participating in numerous international competitions, it's safe to say that Jòn Georgsson's music, originating dite Freeware, has been around for a while. From old Amiga Trackers to today's professional tools, Jòn approaches his music with a nostalgic and intuitive mix of composition and editing.
Upheld by renowned DJ Tom Pooks, Jòn Georgsson has drifted into decidedly more dancefloor productions than on his previous achievements, and in 2004 he releases his new single under Fafa Monteco's label Hypnotic. Included in this release are the exclusive remixes of Loudeast and Tom Pooks, as well as the support of such big names as Ralph Lawson, Chris Duckenfield, DJ Linus, Mazi, David Duriez, Jack De Marseille, Llorca, Monika Kruse, Fafa Monteco and Didier Sinclair.
While working together on a couple tracks, Jòn and Arios decided to name themselves "DRD". More than a band, DRD (short for Dreamdealers) is a collective of artists coming from different medias such as graphics, programming, and music.
Today, Jòn Georgsson lives a modest but happy life on a street behind a church on a hill in the south of France. But don't be surprised when he tells you about his plans to move to Japan, or to give a Depeche Mode tribute concert in Reykjavik. You haven't heard the end of Jòn Georgsson yet.
